Alfalfa Seeds are quick and easy to grow, producing fresh and nutritious sprouts and micro-greens throughout the year. Ideal for growing indoors, these tangy shoots are perfect for adding crisp texture and flavour to salads, sandwiches and healthy dishes. Suitable for novice and experienced growers alike, these reliable seeds are tried and tested for dependable germination and rewarding harvests.

Sow indoors all year round. Wash the seed to be sprouted in cold water, soak for 8 hours prior to ‘sowing’. For Sprouts place seeds either in a jar which can be covered with a pierced lid or a clean cloth, or use a seed sprouter. Rinse the seeds with tepid water twice a day and drain. Harvest after approx. 5-6 days, dependent on temperature, when 0.5-2.5cm long. For ‘Micro-Greens’ use a small seed tray or container with drainage holes. Place approx. 2.5cm (1”) of seed compost in the bottom and sprinkle seed evenly on the surface. Cover seeds with a fine layer of compost. Place on a warm light windowsill out of direct sunlight, keep moist at all times. Harvest when approx. 3cm tall.
